Gail Battista is a retired teacher and has been painting in watercolours and acrylic since 2000.
Gail is a graduate of McMaster University and Hamilton Teacher’s College. She holds a BA in Anthropology and has Specialist Certificates in Primary Education, Special Education and Art Education.
Upon her retirement from teaching, Gail studied with Sandra Mercuri at the Stoney Creek School of Art.
Gail belongs to the co-op artists group at The Sunrise Gallery, 765 Beach Blvd., Hamilton, Ontario and works and displays her art in the Sunwave Studio trailside behind The Sunrise Gallery.
Gail was fortunate to have a painting chosen for display at The First Annual Juried Show at the Sunrise Gallery in November 2009. She has also shown her work at The Grimsby Pumphouse.
Gail enjoys painting landscapes inspired by her travels to England, Italy and Cuba. With the inspiration of her studio mates, Gail has begun to work in abstract and with textured medium. Gail has also been commissioned to design and craft fabric wall hangings for her Church.
